About the Project

  • In January 2024, City Heights CDC was awarded $3.3 million dollars in Sustainable Transportation Equity Project (STEP) implementation funding from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
  • STEP supports transportation equity by funding community-identified solutions to local transportation needs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle miles traveled, all while increasing access to key destinations.
  • City Heights CDC will lead an implementation project that will include:
    1. Pedestrian Enhancements and Walkability
    2. Enhanced Bike Infrastructure
    3. Traffic Safety Infrastructure

The SR-15 Sustainable Redevelopment Project is currently in its first phase: Areas Needs Assessments.

The SR-15 Sustainable Redevelopment Project is part of the California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment—particularly in disadvantaged communities.

This site has four ways for you to give feedback on where we should be investing these funds:
  • Project Map: The interactive map shows you the project area. You can provide feedback directly on the map about specific areas needing improvement, such as an unsafe crosswalk, a sidewalk needing repair, or a transit stop that would feel safer with more lighting.
  • Take the Survey: The10-minute survey will ask you some specific questions about your relationship to the project community and what would make it easier and safer to get around.
  • Share Your Big Idea: The comment box allows you to share a big idea for what to prioritize in the project community.
  • Help Us Determine Priorities: This short budgeting exercise helps identify your spending priorities.
