Project Overview

The Montgomery MPO Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is our chance to come together and envision how we will move around Montgomery in the future!

What is an LRTP?

The Montgomery LRTP is a roadmap for how people and goods will move throughout the region through the plan's horizon, 2050. It helps guide investments in roads, transit, walking and biking facilities, and other transportation improvements to support a safe, efficient, and connected community.

This plan looks at both today’s transportation needs and the challenges and opportunities ahead. As Montgomery grows and changes, the LRTP helps ensure the transportation system keeps pace with community priorities, supports economic development, and enhances quality of life.

Why It Matters

Transportation affects how we get to work, school, shops, and services. The LRTP helps:

  • Identify which projects can be funded and built
  • Improve safety and reliability
  • Expand travel options for all users
  • Support economic growth and development
  • Plan for future population and job growth

A Plan Built with the Community

Public input is a key part of the LRTP process. The plan is developed in collaboration with residents, local leaders, and stakeholders to reflect the needs and priorities of the Montgomery community.

Your feedback will help shape the vision, goals, and transportation investments that guide the region into the future.
