OVERVIEW
ABOUT
Crashes in the INCOG Streets are Increasing, and so are the Human and Economic Costs to our Community.
From 2010-2019, the INCOG region experienced 4,157 fatal or severe injury crashes of the 39,810 injury crashes. Most traffic fatalities occur on streets where speeds are 45 miles per hour or above, or streets with limited street lighting.
The Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) is developing a Local Roads Safety Action Plan (LRSAP) to reach zero fatalities and eliminate deadly crashed on our public roadways – creating a safer, more equitable mobility system for all. This is throughout the 5-county region. The action plan will emphasize an equitable process that analyzes safety needs, identifies high-risk locations and factors contributing to crashes and prioritizes strategies to address them.
Mission Statement
The Mission Statement will be updated here when the Statement is finalized.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
INCOG received federal grant funding to develop a plan as a part of the US Department of Transportation's bipartisan Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. The Supplemental Plan will be structured to identify and prioritize safety needs both at the regional and local levels within equity focus areas.
