Project Overview

The Troutman Comprehensive Plan is our chance to come together to envision the future of our town!

Troutman's Comprehensive Plan will consider specific actions to better align future growth and development with the community’s shared values, as expressed through ongoing public conversations. The planning process empowers the community to:

Collaboratively imagine an ideal future for Troutman,

Articulate a clear plan to move toward that future, and

Establish a strategic framework that guides Towns actions in the years ahead.

A central component of the plan is the Future Land Use Map, which will serve as a long-term guide for growth and development decisions. Supporting this map is a series of topics that help implement the land use strategy and address key community priorities, including:

  • Transportation and Mobility
  • Economic Development
  • Housing
  • Infrastructure and Public Services
  • Parks, Recreation, and Trails
  • Natural Resources and Environmental Stewardship
