This plan focuses on making it safer and easier for students to walk and bike to school. The team will evaluate conditions within a half-mile of every school in Hollister—sidewalks, crossings, bike routes, lighting, and pick-up/drop-off operations—using field visits, walking audits with school staff and parents, and big data tools to understand current travel patterns. The plan will map needs at each school, analyze crossing guard locations against best practices, and produce a prioritized list of infrastructure improvements with cost estimates the City can use to pursue funding.
